WHITNEY 2ND MODEL 4TH TYPE .36 CAL NAVY REVOLVER (1863)
Original Civil War Whitney 2nd Model 4th Type .36 cal Navy Revolver in excellent condition. Has a nice displaying overall patina. The walnut grips are good shape with normal wear from service. The mechanics are fully functional with nice crisp tight action. The full length barrel has the E. Whitney / N. Haven Barrel address with a very nice bore. The brass front sight is intact. The original loading lever moves freely and secures tight. Serial Number 22375 is a late 1863 production and very close to several examples in the Whitney Book. Has traces of cylinder scene remaining. A first class example revolver that will stand strong in any Museum or Private Collection. Looks great with Confederate Cavalry Grouping. Jeb Stuart was carrying a Whitney Revolver when he was mortally wounded at the Battle Yellow Tavern. Please see all photos and call or write for payment options.
