Original Civil War Whitney 2nd Model 2nd Type .36 cal Navy Revolver with beautiful overall displaying patina and condition. All matching SN# 5494 which is a very desirable early war 1861 production. The walnut grips are in great shape with very minimal service wear. The mechanics are fully functional with good working action. The barrel is full length with nice rifling in the bore. Has the E. Whitney Barrel Address as well as the front sight. There is some original bluing remaining, also a small amount of original silver wash on the brass trigger guard. Loading lever moves freely and secures tight. A great example of my favorite handgun from the war. Museum quality example that will be a great addition to any Civil War Collection.
