WHITNEY 2ND MODEL 1ST TYPE .36 CAL NAVY REVOLVER SN#1713 (1860)
Original Civil War Whitney 2nd Model 1st Type .36 cal Navy Revolver SN# 1713 which is a very desirable pre war 1860 production. No doubt this gun was used in action and remains in great shape. Even has the notches in the bottom of the grips for a lanyard ring which you see often in Confederate carried weapons. Has a beautiful overall smooth even patina that displays great. The walnut grips are in great shape and as mentioned earlier were period cut for a lanyard ring. The mechanics are fully functional with really nice action. The early style loading lever moves freely and secures tight. Has a full length barrel with brass bead sight and E. Whitney Barrel Address. A great early example that will display strong in any Civil War Museum or Collection. Please see all photos.
