WEYERSBERG M1840 OLD WRISTBREAKER CAVALRY SWORD AND SCABBARD

Original Pre Civil War Import M1840 Old Wristbreaker Cavalry Sword and Scabbard manufactured by Gabruder Weyerserg of Solingen Prussia. The handle has a beautiful patina and has it's origianal wrap and wire intact. The blade is full length with a nice tip but does have a dozen or so small nicks on the balde. The handle is a little loose as well. The scabbard is in great shape with its orginal throat and both mounting rings. A great example of one of the workhorse swords of the Mexican War as well as the Civil War and was used extensively but both sides including a favorite of the Wizard of the Saddle Nathan Bedford Forest and his men.
