Original Civil War Tower Enfield P53 Musket that was cut down to a Cavalry Carbine. The total length is 40 3/4" with a 25" Barrel. Has a beautiful overall patina that displays great. The walnut stock is in great shape with normal wear from service with no breaks. It does have one small crack on the upper lockplate screw on the back side. The Lockplate is marked Tower/1861 in front of the hammer and has a British crown to the rear. The mechanics are fully functional with crisp tight action and the hammer locks in both positions. It does have nice rifling remaining in the barrel and the original long range sight. Has a small portion of the nipple chain hanging from rear sling swivel and an original ramrod that has been cut to length with no threads. Please see all photos for condition.
