Original Civil War M1842 Musket with 1868 production date. Has a dark brown overall patina. The stock is in good shape with normal wear from service. Has a crack on the back side of lockplate. The mechanics are functional with working action but the hammer only clicks in back position. Lockplate Marked Springfield 1848 behind the hammer. Buttplate is marked "U.S..
