Original Civil War Springfield M1816 Musket in great displaying condition. These Smoothbore .69 cal Muskets were converted to percussion before the Civil War and used early by Northern and throughout the campaign by Southern Troops. This is a really nice example that will stand tall in any Civil War Museum or Personal Collection. The walnut stock is in great shape with very minimal bumps and bruises. The Lockplate has a really nice Springfield Maker Mark with the 1839 Date as well as the US and Eagle in front of the hammer. The mechanics are fully functional with crisp tight action. The barrel has the V P inspector stamp as well as a partial date on the tang. The barrel is full length and has an original ramrod. Has all three of it's barrel bands and front long range site. Please see all photos and call or write for more info.
