Original Civil War Spencer Model 1860 .52 cal Repeating Rifle with an early 4011 Serial Number. An honest war veteran that was sure to have seen lots of service but remains in good condition considering it's heavy usage. Has several initials and names carved in the stock and is the same range as guns that went to the Michigan and New York Cavalry. Would love to know more if you have info on these guns. This example has a really nice even dark attic patina. The stock is in good shape but shows sign of obvious wear from service. A few small pcs are MIA and one large crack in the buttstock. The mechanics are in good working condition and the loading tube is reporting for duty. Has it's rear long range site as well as it's front pinch site. The rifling in the barrel remains as shown in pic. Has the "SPENCER REPEATING RIFLE COMPANY BOSTON, MASS PAT'D MARCH 6 1860" stamp on top of the frame that is still mostly visible. An awesome gun with a lot of great history. Please see all photos. Call or write for more information and payment options.
