SHEBLE & FISHER M1840 "OLD WRISTBREAKER" CAVALRY SWORD AND SCABBARD
Original American Made Civil War Sheble & Fisher M1840 "Old Wristbreaker" Cavalry Sword and Scabbard in beautiful untouched attic condition. A workhorse in the Mexican War as well as the US Civil War and was a favorite of General Forrest and his Cavalry. This sword displays great and was sure to have seen lots of service. The brass handle has a deep aged dark patina. The handle is worn down to the wood with remnants of wrap remaining. There is a crack in the handle but the original wire is intact and really adds to the look. The blade is full length with a salt n pepper patina. It may have been lightly sharpened some time ago but only felt in a few places. There are very minimal nicks more felt than seen. Has the Sheble & Fisher Maker Mark on one side of the blade and a perfect tip. The scabbard is in great condition with both mounts and original throat. Fits the sword perfect and has a nice overall aged patina. Please see all photos. Call or write for payment options.
