Original Civil War Confederate Richmond Armory Rifle Musket with 1863 production date. One of the most sought after relics of the Civil War is the Richmond Musket. Made from the captured equipment from Harpers Ferry of the M1855 Musket. This example is complete but in relic condition. The walnut stock is weathered and has a few small cracks. Has the initials "HB" carved on the right side of the buttstock. The mechanics are functional and hammer clicks in both positions. The lockplate has some pitting but the C.S. and Richmond, VA are legible on the front of the lock and 1863 date on the back behind the hammer. Has a brass buttplate and nosecap. The barrel is full length with original partial rear sight and front pinch sight. The bore is dirty with pitting. The ramrod was broken and not full length (Please see pics). A really nice displaying affordable Richmond Musket that will make a great addition to any Civil War Museum or Personal collection.
