P53 ENFIELD E.P. BOND LONDON PERCUSSION RIFLE MUSKET
Original Civil War Confederate E.P. Bond P53 Enfield Rifle Musket with numbered Buttplate. The gun is in overall beautiful displaying condition with a really nice aged patina. The Lock is fully functional and is marked with the maker E P Bond over London in front of the Hammer. (See pic with info of EP Bond's association with the Confederacy) The stock is in good condition with usual bumps and bruises from service. The barrel is full length and has the faint "25" inspector proof for .577 caliber. Also has its original front sight and a custom rebel sight on the back position. Has a beautiful example of the Confederate imported number buttplate of "7504" / "A" .The suffix "A" lets us know that it was part of the 2nd group of 10,000 imported Confederate weapons. The trigger guard and brass furniture have a nice deep patina. Complete with an original firing nipple chain and tompion that completes the display. A gun that was sure to have seen lots of action and belongs in a Museum. Please see all photos.
