Original Civil War Mansfield & Lamb M1860 Cavalry Sword and Scabbard that belonged to John Uhlman of the 5th U.S. Cavalry. From the Joe Fitzgerald Collection and was in a grouping that belonged to John Uhlman that consisted his Colt M1851 Navy Revolver, Mansfield & Lamb Sword, Bugle & GAR Medals. The leather wrap and wire are intact. The brass handle and pommel have a beautiful brass patina. Inspector Initials are stamped in the undisturbed pommel. The blade is full length with a perfect point and no nicks. Has a perfect example Mansfield & Lamb Maker stamp on one and U.S. / Inspector Initials / 1865 Date on the reverse. Comes with an original leather sword knot in great condition. Leather is supple and has most of its fringe. The Scabbard has a salt n pepper patina and is  complete with throat and both mounting rings. The drag is stamped with inspector initials. An overall mint example with cool oral history from a trusted source of belonging to John Uhlman 5th U.S. Cavalry. Selling for the price of the museum quality sword and scabbard with leather sword knot but want to keep the history with the relic. Please see all photos.
