Original Pre Civil War U.S. made M1842 .54 caliber percussion single shot pistol in nice displaying condition. The mechanics are fully functional with nice action and the hammer clicks in both positions. The lockplate is marked U.S. / R. Johnson / Midd Conn / 1841. Has a smoothbore barrel and the original brass long range sight. The loading lever moves freely and tucks away tight. The walnut stock is in good shape with normal wear from service and couple of repairs and cracks as shown. An overall great example for a great price.
