HORSTMANN & SONS BAYONET & SCABBARD FOR M1841 MISSISSIPPI RIFLE
Very rare Horstmann & Sons Bayonet & Scabbard for the M1841 Mississippi Rifle in Museum Quality condition. Although not a Confederate manufactured weapon it was thought to have been mostly used by Confederate Troops or Southern State Militia Contracts. I have included several pics of Alabama Soldiers with this same type Bayonet. Very rare to have the scabbard in such great shape. The brass handle has a beautiful untouched patina. The blade is full length at 21" with full length stopped fullers. The ricasso is stamped with a King's Head, which is the maker mark for Gebruder Weyersberg, a blade maker in Solingen, Prussia. A rare chance to own one of the bayonets and this example is in great condition and complete. Please see all photos for condition and call or write for more information.
