Original Civil War DJ Millard M1860 Cavalry Sword and Scabbard with a beautiful untouched look. The brass handle and pommel have a really thick attic matching patina. I do not see inspector stamps but does have some rack numbers. The original leather wrap and wire are intact. The blade is full length with very minimal nicks more felt than seen. Has the DJ Millard maker mark on one side of the sword and "US" and inspector initials on the reverse. This is from a very rare contract of only 10,000 swords. All that I have seen are dated 1862. On this example the date is not visible under the leather throat washer. The scabbard is solid and has a really nice dark patina. Has it's throat, drag and both mounting rings. Fits the sword great.
