Original Civil War Confederate Richmond .52 cal Breech Loading Sharps Carbine in Museum Quality Condition. These weapons were made by S C Robinson of Richmond, VA until 1863 when the Confederate Government purchased the equipment and took over the operation. Some 5,000 weapons were produced. This is example was made by the Confederate Government and does not have the S C Robinson Maker Mark on the lockplate. Has an overall beautiful dark patina with really nice brass buttplate and barrel band. The wood stock shows signs of wear from service with a few cracks around the lockplate and some small pieces MIA around the buttplate. Has some really cool kill notches carved in the buttplate. The mechanics are fully functional with decent working action. The barrel is full length with its original rear long range sight and front pinch sight. The barrel has rifling but has a dirty bore. A great example of a Confederate Manufactured Carbine. Please see all photos and call or write for more information and payment options.
