CONFEDERATE FOOT OFFICERS SWORD AND SCABBARD

Regular price $4,500.00 Sale

Original Civil War Confederate Foot Officers Sword and Scabbard in Museum Quality Condition. The original wrap and wire are intact and in great shape. The brass handle and 2-pc pommel have a matching deep patina and Louisiana Maker Traits. I believe this to be either a Thomas, Griswold & Co. or Dufilho made sword. Arizona Swords has recently posted a similar example. The blade is full length with no nicks and in excellent condition. The brass hardware on the scabbard is complete with throat, mount and drag. The stitching on the back of the scabbard is tight and the leather is in great shape. There is one repair as shown in the photos. There is a period set of initials beautifully carved into the handle JWHB. I've done some limited research and found a possible soldier. 6th Louisiana Officer named William H. Buttrick. Great research project. Please call or write for more information.
