Original Civil War Confederate Dog River Cavalry Sword and Scabbard in beautiful displaying condition. There are several traits in the handle that are very similar to a Haiman Product but in my opinion a few traits lead me to believe that it is not. The leather wrap and wire have been professionally restored by Jeff Leathers and looks great. The brass guard and pommel have a matching patina and classic CS casting flaws. The blade is full length with the single blood fuller and a slightly bent tip. Comes with an original Confederate Scabbard with matching beautiful patina. The scabbard show traits of being a Kenansville and very well could be but once again in my opinion a few differences that I normally see in Louis Froelich examples. Both mounting rings are intact as well as the drag. Has the lap seam on the reverse and traces of gold solder. The original throat is in great shape and has several Roman Numerals XXXVIII. Please see all photos of this Confederate Veteran that was sure to have seen many Civil War Cavalry Charges.
