COLT THIRD MODEL HARTFORD MARTIALLY MARKED DRAGOON REVOLVER SN#17808
Original Pre Civil War Colt Third Model Hartford U.S. Martially Marked .44 cal Dragoon Revolver with all matching serial numbers of 17808. There were a total of about 10,500 of these revolvers manufactured from 1851-1861 and range from 10,200 (Some overlapping numbers of the 2nd model) to about 19500. This example has the desirable shoulder stock feature as well as a 7 1/2" Barrel with the folding leaf rear sights and the half moon brass front sight. Has the Colt Patent on the left side of the frame with the U.S. stamp just below. The walnut grips show wear from service but fit the gun great and display well. Has a faint imprint of an Inspectors cartouche on the left grip. The mechanics work great with tight crisp action. Has some military inspector initials on the brass trigger guard. The loading lever moves freely and secures tight. Nice rifling in the barrel remains. An overall nice example that will display strong in any collection. Please see all photos and call or write for more information. I have a Dragoon Revolver Holster as shown in the pics and is sold separately.
