C. ROBY M1860 LIGHT CAVALRY SWORD AND SCABBARD 1864
Original Civil War C. Roby M1860 Light Cavalry Sword and Scabbard with 1864 production date. Made by Christopher Roby of West Chelmsford, Mass! The handle, pommel and guard are tight to the blade and have a beautiful aged matching patina. Has inspector initials in the pommel and rack number #48 stamped. The blade is full length with no nicks and a perfect point. Has a partial C. Roby maker mark on one side of the blade and U.S. / A.G.M. Inspector Initials / 1864 date on the reverse. The leather wrap has been worn down to the wood from service and has original wire. The scabbard is in good condition and has been plated as a war trophy in a Reunion Hall in the past.
