Original Civil War Barnett P56 "Enfield" Cavalry Carbine with nice dark attic patina. Barnett of London was a known supplier of arms to the Confederacy. This example has a really nice displaying just off the battlefield look. Has a good bit of wear from time in the saddle with usual bumps and bruises. The Lock is marked Barnett London with a faint Crown and tower behind the hammer. The mechanics are good with nice tight action. The barrel is full length with it's front and rear sight. Also has nice rifling in the barrel remaining. The stock is in good shape but has been modified with a carved nosecap. Also has some paint splatter on the back side. Starting to flake off with handling. The original ramrod and swivel are MIA but has been replaced by a period example ramrod. Brass buttplate and trigger guard have a beautiful brass patina. Has an original Tompion that fits it perfectly. Please see all photos.
