Original Civil War Rare Ames M1860 Cavalry Sword and Scabbard with 1861 date and no maker or Inspector Mark. The 1860 & 1861 dated swords with no Maker Mark or inspector initials stamps went to a Virginia contract for Jeb Stuarts Cavalry. The original leather and wire wrap are perfect and display great. The undisturbed pommel and hand guard have a beautiful matching patina. The blade is full length with a perfect tip. Does have some wear from service as shown in pics. Has the 1861 date on one side of the blade and blank on the reverse. Scabbard is in great shape and still has the original throat intact. Has a few small dents but otherwise perfect and fits the sword great. Please see all photos and call or write for more information.
