Original Civil War Smith .50 Cal single shot Cavalry Carbine in Museum Quality Condition. Has lots of original case color with very crisp nice maker marks. The Walnut stock is in great shape with just a few bumps and bruises from service. Has a really nice inspector cartouche on the left of the stock and the number "38" on the right. The mechanics are fully functional with tight action. Has the original long range rear sight as well as the front sight intact. The barrel is full length with rifling in the bore. Does have a restored percussion nipple but looks really good. Has a near perfect Poultney & Trimble Baltimore U.S.A. Address as well as Smith's 1857 Patent Date Stamp. A top notch example.
