Original Pre Civil War Rare Palmetto Armory M1842 .69 cal Musket. Considered a secondary Confederate Weapon and most all examples were used in the U.S. Civil War. This example has a really nice attic dark patina that displays well. The walnut stock is in great condition with normal wear from service and no breaks or repairs. The lockplate is fully functional with good working action. Has the Palmetto Armory SC with Palmetto tree in front of the hammer and Columbia, SC 1853? date on the reverse. Also has the South Carolina SC on the buttplate. Complete with all three barrel bands although the sling swivel is broken on the middle band. The barrel is full length with a dirty pitted bore. Comes with the original ramrod that matches and fits really nice. Most of the barrel markings are worn away from pitting.
