Original Civil War Merrill 2nd Model Breechloading Percussion Carbine with 1863 date. The lock is in beautiful mint condition. Has a great maker mark / patent date in front of the hammer and 1863 date on the rear of the lock. The mechanics are fully functional in great working condition. The stock is in great shape with a really nice inspection cartouche. Has a beautiful patina on its brass U.S. marked buttplate barrel band and trigger guard. Barrel is full length with the original rear leaf sight and long range pinch sight intact. Great rifling in the barrel. A very nice example that will make a great addition to any collection.
