Original Civil War W.R. Kirschbaum & Co. of Solingen, Germany M1840 "Old Wristbreaker" Cavalry Sword and Scabbard in untouched attic condition. Has Veterans Hall Gold paint on the scabbard Mounts and Drag where it was hung like a trophy. The guard and pommel have a thick deep patina and the handle is worn down to the leather with just a few strands of wire remaining. The blade is full length with a great point and very minimal nicks if any at all. The scabbard is very attractive and painted like a CS Cavalry Sword leading me to believe it was most likely in a UCV Hall at some point. A work horse sword for the Confederate Army for the entire war. A great example to own and will make a great addition to any Civil War collection or Museum. Please see all photos for condition. Shipping is included in the price.
