Original Civil War European Import M1840 "Old Wristbreaker" Cavalry Sword and Scabbard by German sword maker Friedrick Poetter. The handle and pommel have a beautiful dark matching patina. The wrap and wire have been professionally restored and looks really good. Has the rabbits head maker mark stamp at the ricasso. Blade if full length with a nice point but does have a few small flea bites from service. Has the correct Import scabbard but has some battle damage and is missing the lower section including the drag. An affordable example of a rare work horse Civil War sword with a great look.
