Very nice example of an Original Civil War Confederate Cavalry Sword and Scabbard manufactured by Louis & Elijah Haiman of Columbus, Georgia. They were one of the top sword makers of the Confederacy. The brass handle, pommel and scabbard hardware have a beautiful matching brass aged patina with classic cs casting flaws and file marks. The brass guard is slightly loose The original wrap and iron wire are in really nice untouched condition. The full length blade has a nice tip and has not been sharpened. There are a few flea bite nicks. The Scabbard displays wonderful with the sword and has a nice overall patina. It has an original throat but it is loose from the scabbard. Please see all photos of this Confederate Cavalry Veteran. This sword was originally sold by John Sexton and will stand strong in any collection.
