Original Civil War Barnett P56 Enfield Cavalry Carbine in excellent condition. Barnett was a known supplier to the Confederacy and this example will stand strong in any Museum or Private Collection. The walnut stock is in great shape with the usual wear from service. The Lockplate reads Barnett London in front of the hammer and has the Crown and Tower mark on the rear. The mechanics are fully functional with nice action. The Brass Trigger Guard, Nosecap, Buttplate and Tompion have a really nice matching patina. Has the original saddle bar and ring intact. Both Barrel bands are original to the gun and fit tight. Has the ramrod and swivel that is so often MIA. The barrel is full length with a smooth Bore. Has the original front pinch sight and a replaced rear sight. The nipple has been replace at some point as well. Does come complete with the correct style nipple protector and chain.
